How Solvado works
First-time buyers deserve useful explanations they can understand and sources they can check.
The current guide library was last checked against its linked sources on 1 June 2026.
Every guide opens with a short practical answer. Extra detail is broken into readable sections so buyers can go deeper without fighting through a wall of jargon.
Where rules or thresholds matter, the guide links to primary or public-interest sources such as GOV.UK, MoneyHelper, Revenue Scotland, the Welsh Revenue Authority or RICS.
Solvado explains the process and provides general planning tools. It does not recommend particular mortgages, lenders, insurers, solicitors or tax strategies.
Each guide shows a visible content-check date. When a rule, threshold or linked source changes, the affected explanation should be reviewed and the check date updated.
Some decisions depend on an individual buyer, property or UK nation. Solvado highlights those limits and directs buyers to linked official sources and appropriately regulated professionals before they act.
Commercial relationships must not silently shape educational answers. Any future affiliate link, referral arrangement or sponsored placement will need a clear disclosure before it is used.
Education, not advice. Use this as a clear starting point, check the linked official sources and speak to an appropriately regulated professional before acting. Read the disclaimer
